How to Identify a Profitable Product on Amazon

1. If Amazon itself is selling a product, it means it’s a golden product.
– But for new sellers, it’s better to wait for Amazon to go out of stock.

2. Check if the product has only wholesalers and third-party sellers.
– If Amazon is not competing, it’s a great opportunity.

Focusing on the Grocery Category

Grocery is a very strong and profitable category.
Check how many new sellers are selling the product.
If only wholesalers are selling, there’s an opportunity to enter.

Understanding Amazon’s Buy Box System

If Amazon hasn’t assigned a Buy Box, it means:
The pricing is inconsistent
The product might have issues like supply shortages
Opportunities exist for new sellers to enter.

Analyzing Selling Opportunities

If Amazon is not selling directly, you can set your own price
Checking price trends over the last 90 days helps determine stability.

Final Decision

If I find a good supplier for this product, I will definitely sell it
If Amazon is not dominating, it’s a great opportunity to enter
Always verify data before making a decision, Product Listing & Supplier Verification

Current price: $526 – Very good buy.
No issue in listing a good product, but always verify suppliers first
Go to the data section and analyze average sales & demand

Finding Authentic Suppliers

Before listing any product, make sure you have a reliable supplier
If your supplier fails to fulfill orders, your account health will be affected
Order cancellations can lead to account deactivation

Methods to Find Profitable Products

1. Standard Product Research (Finding & analyzing new products).
2. Reverse Sourcing (Finding products by looking at competitors’ stores).
This method will be explained in the next video.
3. Finding Suppliers (A method similar to DBM – Direct Business Model).
4. Reverse Dropshipping (Another sourcing method we will cover later).

Checking Competing Sellers & Products

Go to Amazon & check other sellers’ listings.
Example: 212 results found – These are active listings of different brands.
Popular brands in this list:
Kraft (a well-known brand).
Lotus (big brand, check variations).
Pez Candy (another good brand).

Next Steps:

Use Reverse Sourcing to analyze sellers & find profitable products.
Learn how to find suppliers efficiently in upcoming videos. Finding Profitable Products on Amazon

Check which brands and products are selling well.
Some sellers list multiple products; you can analyze their storefronts.
If needed, delete unnecessary filters and refresh the results.
Amazon sometimes shows errors, so rechecking is important.

Filtering & Reverse Sourcing Method

1. Identify a brand that is selling well.
2. Check if multiple sellers are offering the same product.
3. Analyze the pricing and competition.
4. If a product looks profitable, check for the supplier.

Finding the Right Supplier

The next video will focus on how to find suppliers for your products.
Before purchasing any product, always calculate profitability.

How to Calculate Profitability?

Before investing in a product, ensure it’s profitable.
Follow step-by-step checks before purchasing inventory.

Use Amazon’s FBA model, online arbitrage, or drop shipping, depending on the product type.

Using Google Calculator for Profit Calculation

1. Go to Google.com.
2. Search for Amazon Revenue Calculator.
3. Enter product costs, selling price, Amazon fees, and fulfillment costs.
4. Calculate net profit per unit.

If a product is profitable, invest in it. Otherwise, keep searching for better opportunities. Using Amazon Revenue Calculator to Check Profitability

1. Open Amazon’s Revenue Calculator – This tool gives exact profit information
2. Click on “Continue as Guest” and search for the product in Amazon’s catalog
3. Paste the product title and search for its details.
4. Example Product Analysis:

  • The calculator shows a selling price of $46,591 (example).
  • The Amazon fee is $32.93 per unit.
  • Amazon storage fee is $6.31 per unit.
  • Cost of Goods (COG) is $128.25 per unit.
  • Net profit per unit: $45.25.
FBA vs. DBM (Self-Fulfillment) Comparison

If using Amazon FBA, the profit per unit is $45.25.
If using DBM (self-fulfillment through a private center), the cost difference is only $1 per unit.
Why? Because the product is small and lightweight, leading to low fulfillment costs.

Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)

The supplier requires a minimum order of 20 units.
Since the profit margin is good, buying 20 units is safe.

What to Do Next?

Contact the supplier or brand to confirm the unit price.
Use the Revenue Calculator to verify profitability.
Check other products to find the most profitable ones.

By following this process, you can make smart selling decisions and maximize profits. Checking Profitability Before Selling
If a product is showing negative profit (-$5), then it’s not profitable.
Always use Amazon’s Revenue Calculator before making any decision.
Amazon’s own Remit Calculator gives you exact profit information.

Next Steps & Upcoming Video

In the next video, I will show you how to check product eligibility on Amazon.

We will look at:
Whether a product requires Amazon approval
If additional fees or performance checks are required
If other qualifications are needed to sell the product

Amazon Restrictions & Selling Rules

If a product category is restricted, new sellers cannot sell it immediately.
Amazon has specific guidelines for different product types.

Some categories require:

Approval before selling
Performance checks
Additional fees

Selling News-Related Products

Amazon has restrictions on certain categories, including news-related products.
Some markets (e.g., specific regions or countries) have extra restrictions.
Just because a product is available doesn’t mean you can sell it right away.
Always check Amazon’s restrictions before investing in any product.
Now, as I proceed, I will copy the details and click on the required option.

Applying for Category Approval

Go to Settings > Applications
The system is asking for a document
You need a distribution invoice from:
Manufacturer
Brand
Authorized Distributor

Invoice Requirements:

The document must meet the required criteria
It should be dated on or after June 22, 2013

Product Selection & Confidence Check

If you are confident in a high-potential product, you can purchase 10 units as a test.
This helps you assess whether the product performs well.
Then, you can proceed with applying for approval.

Is Dropshipping an Option?

If the product is already ungated, there is no need for approval.
Dropshipping doesn’t provide invoices, so you cannot use it for category approval.
However, if you believe the product has great potential for drop shipping, you may take a small risk and buy 10 units.
Once approved, you can sell them via FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon) for better profit margins.

Applying to Sell the Product

Click “New” and then “Apply to Sell”.
Select the condition as New.

The “approval process may involve additional costs”, as some websites “charge fees for category approval”.

Now, we check the status and proceed with the next steps.Guru.com is an international website that deals with various categories and products.

Their pricing varies:
99
1699 for a specific category
699 for the music category

This website is Guru.com.

Before making any big decision, you must always check if a product is gated or ungated on Amazon.

If you are a new seller, I recommend staying away from gated categories or restricted products to avoid complications.

What’s Coming Next?

The next part will be very interesting and important because we will cover:

  • How to list shipment products
  • How to create a shipment

We are almost at the end of this course, and this is a crucial topic—how to list products and create labels.

Final Steps:
1. We have selected the product and checked its profitability.
2. Everything is perfect, and we have purchased inventory and sent it to a Prep Center.
3. As mentioned earlier, distribution routes are changing across the US and Europe.
4. Private warehouses, Prep Centers, and Distribution Centers now provide services like:

  • Receiving shipments
  • Unpacking and repacking
  • Labeling

Without proper labeling, Amazon won’t accept your shipment. You cannot enter the warehouse.

The labeling is done first, and then the products are sent to Amazon’s warehouse.

Most suppliers and distributors do not ship directly to Amazon. Instead, they prefer to send products to your address, and then you ship them to Amazon.

If You Are Using DBM (Direct Business Model):

You store products yourself.
Storage costs exist, but they are much lower than Amazon’s storage fees.

Now, let’s look at how to list products and create labels.

Understanding SKUs (Stock Keeping Units):

SKUs help you organize and identify products easily.
Example:
001 = Model A
002 = Farhana Product
003 = Another Product

You can assign any number that makes sense for your tracking.

For example, I assign SKU 2030 and set the quantity to 10.

Since we are shipping to Amazon’s warehouse, we must enter the actual quantity accurately.

If you are sending 10 units, write 10—not 25 or 20, because Amazon will generate only 10 labels accordingly.

If we decide to store products in Amazon’s warehouse, we click on the option for that.

Finally, we download the waybill, click Submit & Finish, and complete the process.Alright, now click here.

Amazon can also apply the labels for you, but it is very expensive, so we usually prefer to do it ourselves.

If you see an error repeatedly, don’t worry.

Now, click on Print Labels.

Stay in touch with the supplier via phone, WhatsApp, or email and let them know the exact labeling requirements.

All the details are available here. Whatever specifications they ask for, you need to provide them correctly.

Click on Print Labels, and we will proceed.

How the Process Works:

1. You get the products from a supplier or a friend.
2. The supplier prints the labels and cuts them properly.
3. Each unit gets its own FNSKU label.
4. After labeling, the units are packed into boxes.
5. The Prep Center determines how many boxes are needed.
6. If there are multiple boxes, they require separate box labels.

I have already shown how to generate box labels on the internet Promoters,

Alright! Now, I have explained the Prep Center process.

For example, let’s take a standard box size of 12x12x12 just to show you how it works.

The box weight is also determined by the Prep Center.

Next, we click on Confirm Packing Information to proceed.

The shipment pickup charge will be $4.62, so you need to add this cost to your total expenses. This is usually the cheapest option available.

They know the entire procedure, and usually, thermal labels are printed.

Once we print the label, it will be placed on the box.

Since there is only one box, there will be one label for it.

I have already shown this process earlier. Each unit will have a label, like the water bottle product, which will get its own label.

Then, box labels will be printed for all the boxes. If there is only one box, it will have a single label, which will be placed on the backside.

You just need to send it; there is no need to worry about where the labels are placed.

The carrier will come, call you, verify the ID, and then pick up the shipment.

Once it reaches the Amazon warehouse, the boxes will be scanned at the entrance, and Amazon will receive all the necessary information.

No one can go inside the warehouse.

Once the box number and tracking ID are updated, the status will show as confirmed.

However, until the carrier calls Amazon, the shipment won’t be picked up.

The system will show the shipment as available until then.

We can enter any quantity—for example, we enter soft items.

Then, we confirm the details and submit them.

Once done, Amazon will process it, and we click Finish & Submit. If it shows 2050, and I refresh it, maybe it will update. There is no issue with that.

If you still don’t understand, you can give account access to the center, and they will create the shipment for you.

In the next video, we will discuss how you can find centers in the US or UK. The process is very simple.

You can find and contact them easily. You can also search state-wise, if we go to Texas, we can check their rates.

For example, the price is $0.80 per unit.

This is the information you need. If an item, such as a class item or a fresh item, needs to be packed in a poly bag, they will charge 0.20 points for burning.

If you have an individually manufactured item but it is sold as a bundle on Amazon, then it needs to be packed as a bundle, and different charges will apply.

If an item needs to be placed in a brown box, there will be a charge for that.

If an item requires bubble wrap, the charge is 27.

These are all the services they provide. You can contact them via email or call them as well.

Yesterday, I mentioned that I would tell you about the software, so I will explain it now. Similarly, there is another Amazon-related tool that you can open and use for communication.

We keep making changes to stay updated and informed. Alright, these two software applications can also be downloaded for free from Google Play.

They offer great facilities, work well, and provide clear communication. Apart from these, there is other software available on the web.

It is very good software, and many companies do not come, but Numero and A provide OTP.

From here, you can make calls, contact these brands and wholesalers, and communicate with them over the phone. I hope you all have understood this well, and InshaAllah, you will become very successful by learning this.

You need to put in the effort and watch the video repeatedly as many times as necessary until you fully grasp the concept. Also, do your own research.

InshaAllah, may Allah grant you all success. Please remember me in your prayers.

Allah Hafiz.
